About Mesmeric Fusion Belly Dance Co....
Under the creative direction of founder/choreographer, KayLouise, the focus of Mesmeric Fusion Company is to interperate music and story and to affect an audience using music, theme & movement.

Creating her own unusual music remixes, Kaylouise emphasizes creativity, fluidity, muscle isolation and synchronization in the original choreographies she creates.

About KayLouise & "Fusion"...
With a great respect for traditional middle eastern belly dance and over 35 years of performance experience, Kaylouise applies belly dance technique to Arabic music as well as a variety of other music genres. This "fusion" allows her to take the style of a belly dancer and blend it with blues & vaudeville and more contemporary, urban songs.

Kaylouise has been dancing formally since 1975. She began "The Place for Dance," a women's wellness program, in 2004, and created the professional performance troupe "Mesmeric", in September of 2006.

Like many of the women that find themselves involved with this dance form, KayLouise celebrates that a woman's interests and life experience adds to the depth of the Mesmeric dance experience. Before devoting herself fulltime to the success & development of her wellness programs, KayLouise worked for the Toledo Art Museum, the Toledo City Paper and is internationally published in The Daily Telegraph of London, England and The Daily Telegraph of Sydney, Australia.

The Black Cat Studio Instructors...

Shannon: Shannon began dancing in 2007, armed with an invitation from a co-worker and curiosity when she attended a class given by KayLouise. It was an instant connection to the dance and the wonderful women there. After she began to perform as a student she joined the troupe Mesmeric and began looking for educational opportunities that would allow her to open this style of expression to other women. "I was always painfully shy...and never took a dance class in my life. Belly dance is how I began to find confidence and the courage to be the person I was meant to be. I proved that you don't have to be a size two or a 'tween to learn and to appreciate dance".

Kim: Kim was first introduced to Belly Dance and KayLouise in June 2004 when she and some friends took a class offered through work. It was a fresh, fun way to spend time with friends while getting a little exercise. Belly Dance quickly became Kim’s new passion. She became a member of the professional performance troupe “Mesmeric” in September 2006 and began teaching shortly after. Kim is no stranger to dance and performance. She was a member of the Michigan Maplette dance and twirl competition team and was a majorette, a competition cheerleader, as well as, a member on the Pom Dance Team at Adrian College. For Kim, belly dance gives a sense of confidence and freedom and she truly enjoys sharing this passion with others. “I get up. I walk. I fall down. Meanwhile I keep dancing!”
“Get your body out of the way and let your spirit soar!”
